20 Oct 2012 (Petra News Agency) Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said on Saturday that Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, will continue receiving Syrian refugees "stemming from its historical obligation towards its brethren." Judeh, who spoke during a meeting with former Syrian MP Riyad Seif to discuss latest developments in Syria, reiterated Jordan's support of a political solution in its neighbour that guarantees an end to bloodshed and the start of a transitional period.

He said a transition should safeguard Syria's territorial unity and restore its security and the dignity of its people through participation of all political forces and all components of the Syrian national social fabric.

The former Syrian MP spoke about the deep ties between the Jordanian and Syrian people, expressing his gratitude to King Abdullah's position and his support of a political solution to stop the bloodshed and fulfill the Syrian people's legitimate aspirations.
